Return to Worship Plan for #splcwesterville

On Thursday, October 15th, Franklin County returned to a Level 3 on the Ohio Public Health Advisory System Map.

All in-person worship services & ministries are on hold.

We will return to in-person worship offerings after 2 consecutive weeks of Franklin County returning to a Level 2 (or lower).

In case of inclement weather, our 9:30 AM worship service will be cancelled.

Our 11 AM Livestream will continue, independent of the 9:30 AM worship offering.

In-Person Christian Education remains on hold, but there are virtual options available for youth & adults!

Worship Service Sign-ups

All who wish to attend worship at #splcwesterville must register prior to attending, for the health and safety of all attending and leading worship. If you have not registered for worship in the shelter house or on the lawn, you will be asked to return to your car & tune to 89.9 and participate in our drive-in option.

A weekly registration link will be available on the front page of our website, distributed via e-mail, and on our social media platforms. If you know someone who would like to attend worship but does not have access to internet, please encourage them to contact the church office (614-882-7601) for assistance in registering.

There will be a separate registration link for each week.

All are welcome!

Some should stay home.

We are excited to see everyone at worship again!

Parking, Check-in, & Seating

Those attending worship in the shelter house or on the lawn will be asked to park closest to the church building, along the east & west portions of the parking lot. If you are attending worship on the lawn, you may temporarily park closer to unload chairs, blankets, & beach umbrellas.

Those attending worship as the drive-in option will be asked to park closest to the shelter house. This will ensure they are within the broadcast radius for the FM Transmitter.

Areas approved for seating on the lawn will be marked with spray paint on the field. Please only sit with your household; do not combine with other households to sit close together.

All attending worship that morning are required to stop by the check-in tent. There, you will have your temperature taken, asked a short health questionnaire, and given further specific instructions on where to park and how to be seated.

Masks worn correctly are mandatory for those attending worship in the shelter house and on the lawn. If you do not have a mask, we will provide you with one.

Ushers will be available to direct individuals and families to their seats in the shelter house. Please only sit with your family and maintain at least 6 feet from the next individual or family.

Individuals and families attending worship on the lawn will be asked to be seated in the farthest spots first.

At the end of the worship service, those in the shelter house will be dismissed by rows by an usher. Those worshiping on the lawn will dismiss with the closest to the parking lot first. Please do not leave until instructed to do so.

Bulletins

Bulletins will not be printed or distributed for congregational use.

Links to download or print from home is provided on the livestream page on our website.

Please note: There is no WiFi in the Shelter House or on the Lawn, so you will need to plan accordingly.

Holy Communion

Holy Communion will be offered at our in-person worship service.

We will be practicing Communion in one kind, meaning bread only.

We believe that Christ is fully present in, with, and under the bread

and

that Christ is fully present in, with, and under the wine.

We give thanks for Jesus' continual and abiding presence with us.

When it is time for distribution, the Pastor will distribute Communion in individual cups to each household. Once you have received the cups, you will be invited to remove your masks & distribute Communion with your household saying "The body of Christ, broken and given for you."

If you are attending worship individually, the Pastor will say the words of distribution to you.

Please keep your plastic cups with you for the remainder of the worship service.

There will be a trash can available for disposal after worship.

As a reminder, the bread we use for Holy Communion is peanut, tree nut, casein, gluten, and egg free.

Pastor Jon and Pastor Rebecca are continuing to offer Communion & Conversation by appointment.

Singing

During a webinar hosted by the Southern Ohio Synod to consult with medical experts, it was deemed unsafe for groups to gather together to sing due to the increased projection and spread of droplets and aerosols.

Singing will be limited to designated vocalists in our Praise Band.

They will be behind plastic barriers to reduce the spread of droplets and aerosols.

Lyrics will be printed in the bulletin. Please use this as an opportunity to meditate on the lyrics while you listen.

Group responses & prayers will be allowed in your normal speaking volume.

Please be aware that we when the response is "And also with you" those attending the drive-in worship service are encouraged to participate by honking their horns!

Offerings, Sharing the Peace, & Greeting Lines

Thank you for your continued generosity during this time of worshiping apart. Because of this, we have continued to adapt to the new ways God is calling us to "Make Disciples. Live Faithfully. Serve Others."

The offering plates will not be distributed during the service.

There will be a basket at the check in tent where you can place your offerings before worship begins.

Or, you can donate online anytime!

During the Sharing of the Peace, you are asked to stay where you are seated.

You may shake hands or hug individuals within your family.

Be creative in how to share the peace with others - wave, peace signs, text them!

At the end of the worship service, there will no greeting line. When you are dismissed, please head directly to your cars.

Restrooms

Emergencies happen!

The downstairs restrooms are available for use.

Please practice social distancing when entering/exiting the bathrooms and while washing your hands.

The rest of the building remains closed.
